Business Setup > System Data > Job Tracking Settings > Allow Continuous Flow

Purpose:

Continuous Flow will allow you to move partial batches of a full job qty onto the next operation to be started, while the balance is completed on the prior operation.

Continuous Flow + Item BOM and Routing

Once this has been setup, Continuous Flow will default to active for each item routing. If you do not want to use it for certain items, you can toggle it off.

Continuous Flow + Job Tracking

When Continuous Flow is being used, as soon as a qty > 0 has been completed on one operation, the subsequent operation on the same item and job will show that completed qty as “Ready to be Collected”

Here my first op is Laser Cut and I have completed 2 units.

The next op is Deburr. Within this operation, I see a notification that “Laser Cut has completed 2 units.” I should select the 2 units and then select “Collect.” At this point, the planned qty for Deburr will reflect however many units I have collected from Laser Cut.

<aside> 🚨

It's important that your operators collect the completed units from the prior operation as they become available. This will directly impact the overall planned qty for the job.
