Fulcrum Materials is an expanding database of raw materials categorized by shape, type, grade, finish, and size. It replaces “legacy” items in your Bill of Materials, offering flexibility to use leftover materials from previous jobs and supports nesting (sheet and plate) for laser, plasma, and waterjet operations.
Each material variety includes a calculated weight per square or linear inch. When users activate materials, input current price estimates per pound or kilogram, and specify standard sizes, Fulcrum can estimate material costs for quotes and jobs.

Select the ****materials you need and set to Active. Check the box in the grid and activate.
Once you have activated them, add a vendor to them with a price per lb/kg, and a lead time. Ensure a Primary Vendor exists for the material

Be sure you have your raw material vendor information entered into the site before these next steps! You can add vendors under Purchasing > Vendors

Finally, add any sizes that you would purchase. These will be the lengths or dimensions of the material you purchase (inches).

Once you have activated your material, we will want to set your vendors and your standard purchased sizes.

Built into each material variety is the calculated weight per sq inch or linear inch. When a price per pound / kg is entered, Fulcrum is able to calculate an estimated material cost for the size of the piece being purchased or consumed to your jobs.

Add sizing to your materials. In this case I selected all the active sheet and plate material to add sizing for.

You can add multiple sizes of all of these materials easily!
