Operation - “Nestable”
Your laser / plasma / waterjet operations will need to be set as “Nestable.” This can be done within the System Data > Operation page.

Nestable Operation with Required Material
The nestable operation must have Required Material set to it. You can do this by adding the material to the BOM first then selecting it within the operation under Required Items & Material or by adding the material directly through the operation.

4. Operation - DXF Attachment (Required only for Downloading Nest Package from Fulcrum)
The “nestable” operation within the routing will be required to have the dxf file attached directly to it.

Note that the “Operation Attachment” is different than the item attachment. You can click into the operation in your routing, then toggle to “Attachments” to add an operation-specific attachment.

Nest planning will allow you to manage your nests and work orders by material type. Nest reports can be take and imported directly into Fulcrum. Fulcrum will then adjust the details of the work order to match the nest report.

Create Jobs, Approve and Schedule Jobs.
Jobs need to be at least Approved before Nest Planning has any visibility into them.

Nest planning shows you all current nests categorized by material type.
Choose jobs to be nested together. Create Nest and Download Nest Package.

Create nest in your nesting software and download nest report.
The Nest Package allows you to quickly gather the appropriate DXF files based on the jobs that you are grouping together for the nest. This should come out as a zip folder with the dxf files included.
Using the Nest Package complete your nest in your nesting software. Your software should allow you to download some type of nest pdf report that can be dropped back into the Fulcrum nested WO.
Here is an example Nest Report exported from Pronest. If you are using a different nesting software, you may want to explore report configuration options to get your pdf nest reports to closely resemble this.
Import your nest report and confirm details match
