When creating your tags you will assign a name, color and as many “Used For” options as you like. Each option allocates that tag to a specific area of your site, but you don’t need to create multiple tags with the same name in order to use it in multiple locations.
Below is a breakdown of each tag type and where you will use tags:
- Items - Creates options for “Tags” on an item. Use these tags to filter on your items or purchasing planning grids, you can have as many items tags on a single item as you prefer
- Item Accounting Codes - Various accounting integrations will require different things as your accounting codes in Fulcrum. Most common: QuickBooks Desktop requires your QuickBook Desktop Item and QuickBooks Online requires your Product or Service, respectively. Chat with your launch or customer success manager if you have any questions while setting up your Fulcrum accounting codes. If you’re not integrating with an accounting software you can still take advantage of accounting codes for reporting purposes
- Item Classes - Intended to be used with our Quickbooks Online accounting integration. Item Classes are labels (like Departments, Locations, or Business Units, etc.) you assign to transactions to track revenue and expenses for different segments of your business, providing a second layer of categorization beyond basic accounts for profitability analysis, unlike standard "Items" (Products/Services) which define what you sell/buy. Classes let you run reports like Profit & Loss by Class to see which departments, locations, or projects are making or costing money, helping you manage diverse business activities efficiently.
- Item Categories - Creates drop-down options for a single category on an item, visible on your current inventory report and stock take download
- Item Shapes - Creates drop-down options for item shapes within your item properties
- Item Materials - Creates drop-down options for item material types within your item properties
- Item Grades - Creates drop-down options for item grades within your item properties
- Item Thicknesses - Creates drop-down options for item thicknesses within your item properties
- Item Shipping Containers - Items marked as sell allow you to store shipping information within the sales tab of the item. Use this tag to create container types for this shipping information, most often used for international shipments
- Break Reason Codes - Using Fulcrum timeclock? Add your break reason codes here, these options will show when your team selects to start their break
- Refund Reason Codes - Add reason codes for refunding line items on sales orders
- Receiving Issue Codes - These codes will show within the receiving record of a line item for you to document any issues with items you receive
